This is a plain-language summary of how Qissa treats your family's information. The full legal privacy policy will live here before public launch.
Photos you upload
Photos of family members are used only to generate illustrated characters for your stories. We store a mathematical face encoding (not the original photo, if you choose that option). You can delete any face or photo at any time from your account. We never sell, share, or license your photos — full stop.
Voice recordings
Voice recordings used for parent-voice narration are treated as highly sensitive biometric data. They are encrypted at rest, accessible only to generate narration for your own family's books, and deletable at any time. We do not share voice data with third parties beyond the voice generation provider that we use under contract.
Children's data
Children under 13 are subjects of your stories, not users of the product. Account ownership requires a parent or legal guardian, with explicit consent for any children's content. We follow applicable privacy laws for minors, including COPPA in the United States and GDPR-K in Europe.
Training data
We do not train AI models on your family's content by default. If we ever want to use your data to improve the product, we will ask you explicitly — opt-in, never opt-out. Your answer will be visible in your account settings and changeable at any time.
Who sees your content
By default, every book you create is private to your account. Family library members you invite can see the books shared with them. Nobody else — not us, not advertisers, not AI companies — sees your family's content.
Deletion and export
You can delete your account at any time. When you do, all your photos, voice data, and face encodings are deleted within 30 days. You can export all your books as PDFs before deleting so you keep what you made.
